Slovak Wine: Pick of the Crop

Choosing a bottle of Slovak wine can be a challenge; supermarket shelves and restaurant wine lists groan with choices. I asked wine expert Peter Jánoši, owner of the Bratislava wineshop Vinotéka sv. Urbana, to name the producers he feels are producing Slovakia's best wines.

The list he came up with, printed below, has, from my experience, proven a reliable guide to finding Slovak wine with local character and first-rate winemaking standards.
